Challenge:

Under emerging EU Data Protection law, companies processing sensitive + personal data need to perform structured Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) on key processing workflows, initiatives & activities. HST was tasked to create a platform which allows organizations to assess any project, dataflow or overall governance activity against key compliance such as ISO 29100, EU GDPR and BS 10012.

Solution:

HST developed a next gen multi-tenant SaaS platform called BSI PACE (pace.bsigroup.com). BSI PACE (Privacy Assessment Coverage Engine) is an automated, self-assess, SaaS-based profiling and reporting solution for organisations of all sizes, helping data guardians assess and improve current data use activity in line with privacy requirements and best practice.

BSI PACE helps organisations meet requirements of emerging Data Protection regulations such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ISO 29100 and BS 10012.

PACE is founded on a configurable core underlying all relevant privacy assessments. Codifying BSI’s extensive standards development and consulting expertise in the privacy and information security domains, PACE provides vital support for growing privacy assessment and compliance requirements. It has been developed to facilitate efficient + collaborative assessment workflow, and automated reporting and analysis for quick-win insight – allowing privacy assessment to be made practical, operational and scalable across organisations of all sizes.
